We're very excited about finally getting to meet the girls, but very nervous!! Please keep praying that they are big and strong enough to stay here in Abilene! I wanted it to be a nice controlled, scheduled c-section on a weekday where there is plenty of staff around...not on a holiday weekend! Oh well.... Things don't always turn out like we plan! I'm just glad we made it this far. We were so close to having babies 3 weeks ago!

We Might be Meeting the Babies Very Soon!
My OB came back from vacation today with news I didn't expect to hear. I thought I had been doing fine, but she thinks otherwise. Last night the babies had some heart rate issues, but the on call Dr. called me and said he wasn't very concerned. They've been doing this for several days now. My blood pressure has been pretty controlled until this morning. It was the highest it's ever been 3 readings in a row! I felt fine though. I didn't even notice. I wasn't seeing any spots or even have a headache. She said my face looks puffier and was also concerned about my hematocrit going up so much....a true sign that my pre-eclampsia is getting worse. The amniotic fluid around the babies is also decreasing and they're starting to show more stress. She thinks it could be pretty soon... possibly this weekend! I got another rescue dose of steroids to help mature their lungs. They've now had 2 rounds so that's comforting to know that their lungs will be as mature as possible. I can't eat anything for breakfast anymore until I'm seen by the dr. just in case I'll be delivering later that day. They're also going to hold my heparin shots until I'm seen so hopefully I can get a spinal instead of having to be put all the way to sleep. My pediatrician is out of town this weekend so his partner will be covering for him. He already told her about us and she's comfortable keeping 30 weekers here as long as they don't need blood pressure support or have any other major issues requiring a higher level of care. If they end up getting sent to Cook's, I'll be sent up there as soon as possible and will recover there from the c-section.
