No News is Good News...

This week was a fairly quiet week for the girls. Presley has been tolerating her tube feeds well so far. They're still being very cautious and going up on her rate very slowly. Right now she is getting 12mL every 3 hours. She has had a couple of episodes where she spits up after being fed and her oxygen levels go down. I was afraid she was going to be put on oxygen too! She managed to perk back up and the Dr. thinks she just has bad reflux (which is very common in premature babies). Instead of feeding her over 30 minutes, now they feed her over 1 hour and that has helped a lot. She's even been putting on weight. Last night she weighed 2lb. 15 oz! She is still getting a tiny bit of IV nutrition and hopefully that will be totally off in the next 2 or 3 days. If so, she probably will get to join her sister in the step-down unit!

Here's a picture of Presley getting her beauty sleep...

Paige had a good week too. Last night at her 9pm feeding she had a huge accomplishment. She took her entire feeding through a bottle! All 26mL! It was her very first time to do that. We had a rough week working on it. I was starting to get very frustrated because it just didn't seem like she was getting it. I was hoping she would keep doing it every time she gets a bottle....that wasn't the case this morning. She only took half as much. Oh well... The Dr. said that's normal and eventually she'll catch on. Now she gets a bottle 3 times a day instead of 2. Her pulmonologist also thinks that she will be off her oxygen soon!

Here's Paige making even a nasal cannula look cute...
