Since I've been back on post-partum, I've hardly gotten any sleep at all because they come in my room several times during the night. Is it really necessary to make me get out of bed and step on the scales at 3:45 in the morning?!?! I now have orders to let me rest from 11pm-7am so I had my best nights sleep yet last night! The last two days the babies have wanted to sleep in and weren't very reactive on their non-stress tests first thing in the morning. Just to make sure they're doing okay, I had to go down to radiology for biophysical profiles (ultrasounds) to check on them. Both days they scored 8/8 points, so they're doing fine.
Over the weekend the Dr. on call let me go downstairs in a wheelchair for the first time! I never thought I would look forward to going to the gift shop so much in my life! Jon even went home and brought Riley back to see me. It was so nice to get outside and get some fresh air....even if it was over 100 degrees! According to Jon, I was on the verge of a "diva meltdown" and needed to get out of my room....I'm not sure what he's talking about though.. I think I've remained very calm and friendly for being cooped up in here for 3 weeks!
Our next big goal is to make it to 32 weeks! The time right now in between 30 and 32 weeks is pretty iffy as far as if the babies will be able to stay here or get shipped off. My Dr. feels comfortable delivering me here, but there's still a chance the babies might not be able to stay. After 32 weeks our pediatrician feels more confident that they'll be able to stay here in Abilene with me. I really don't want to be stuck here recovering from a c-section while my babies are in Ft. Worth! Next week I'll probably get a second round of steroid shots to help mature their lungs. Originally, my OB didn't think I would still be pregnant at 31 weeks to get the second dose, but now she really thinks I'll make it to 32. I have another appointment with the Maternal-Fetal specialist next week and I'm hoping the babies have fattened up. I've been trying my best and eating as much as I can, but this hospital food is really starting to get old! Thanks so much to everyone who has brought me food! I would be wasting away!
