We've made it past 29 weeks! I've been in the hospital for exactly 2 weeks now. In just a few more days I'll be able to deliver here in Abilene if something happens. I was moved to the post-partum unit this week, but it only lasted about 3 days. On Thursday, the babies started acting up and their heart rates were decreasing intermittently a lot more than usual. That got me sent back to labor and delivery very quickly! We had another biophysical profile and both babies scored 8/8 again. It looks like I'll stay here in L&D a couple more days just so they can be monitored continuously. We weren't really sure what was going to happen. My Dr. wouldn't let me eat or drink anything just in case I had to have a C-section. Overnight the babies calmed down and didn't have as many decreases in their heart rates. This was the first time the babies have had problems. It had been my blood pressure causing all the problems until now! Thankfully, my blood pressure is starting to get under better control.
We saw the maternal-fetal specialist this week and got weight estimates on the babies. Paige is 2lb. 10 oz. and Presley is 2lb. 7oz. It's reassuring to know that through all of this they're still growing like they should!
Here's a picture Jon took of Remi at home. She's sitting by the couch where I always sit and feed her treats at night! How sad! I had just gotten privileges to go down to the lobby or outside for fresh air yesterday in a wheelchair, but never even got to leave because of all the heart rate issues. Now, leaving my room is totally out of the question. Maybe I'll have a good weekend and can persuade my Dr. to let me try again next week! Jon was going to bring the dogs so I could at least see them for a few minutes. I've never been away from them for this long!
I'm so glad the girls are growing and doing better. I hope you had a good weekend and were able to get "out" for a little bit. We love you guys and are continuing to keep you in our thoughts and prayers!
