From the beginning....

Once I had a blood test to confirm pregnancy, my levels came back sky high. We both knew that could possibly mean more than one baby in there or it could just be one big healthy baby. Needless to say, it was a very long 3 week wait! The actual quote from the nurse was, "I can't wait until you come in for your ultrasound so we can see just how many babies are in there!" Jon was ready to pass out! Since the nurse pretty much convinced us there were more than one baby, when we found out there were ONLY two, we were still shocked, but a little relieved!! We found out at 7 weeks that we were expecting twins! We still kept it a secret as much as we could since it's so high risk. I was sent to Lubbock to see a high risk specialist up there and he followed me pretty closely. One plus of being high risk is the amount of ultrasounds you get! I've had so many I've lost count. Probably over 20 by now. Here's the babies at 13 weeks snuggled up against each other.

We had a trip to Hawaii this past February planned for almost 2 years before we found out I was pregnant. We figured we might as well go since it will probably be our last vacation for a long time! We stayed at a friends house in Kona on the big island. I was amazed at how different it was from Maui. Here was our view every morning waking up! (I don't have any other pictures since I'm using my laptop here in the hospital).
My pregnancy has been pretty uneventful up until 27 weeks hit... I was still working full time and doing great but my blood pressure had slowly been creeping up and I was starting to get a lot of swelling in my ankles, face and hands. Then, things changed very quickly!
