Happy 9 Months!!

I really need to get better at this blogging thing.. So much has happened over the last month that I don't even know where to start!! We took the girls on their first little vacation to San Antonio. My parents along with my sisters, brother-in-law and nephew joined us as well. We had a great time! It was the girls first time to really be out in public... and our first time really traveling both babies (besides the couple of quick trips we made to Cook's last fall). It was unbelievable everything we had to take! My car was packed full. We went to the Alamo, Zoo, river walk, and the other touristy places. On our way back, we stopped in Fredricksburg and stayed at a bed and breakfast. We have always wanted to do it and we picked a pretty bad night to stay. It was the night where they had all the horrible thunderstorms with flooding and tornadoes nearby. That town turned into a ghost town as soon and they mentioned severe weather!

A couple days after we got back from San Antonio, Paige would get really fussy and start tugging at her ear. After a couple days of it, I decided to take her to the Dr. just in case it was an ear infection. He examined her ears and they were fine! While we were there, he decided to go ahead and do our 9 month check up 3 weeks early. The 9 month appointment is just a well check without any shots. For the first time ever, they are on the 9 month growth chart!! (it was at the very bottom of the chart, but I'm counting it!) They're the size of 9 month olds instead of the 7 month olds they technically are. We couldn't be more proud of them!
This month they've also started drinking out of straw sippy cups. They absolutely love them! Now since they drink out of straws, they think that they can drink our drinks with straws...they get very mad when I won't let them! They've also started eating puffs with their fingers. They both knew exactly what to do when I put them in front of them. I was impressed! This month they've tried a lot of new foods including quinoa, lentils, broccoli, mango, and spinach. Everything was a hit! They still don't have any teeth! It seems like they've been teething for months now!!
After coming back from vacation, I think we finally got this routine thing figured out. After a bath and bottle, they go to bed around 7:30-8:00 in their cribs...usually without a fight. We still dream feed them another bottle around 10 or so when we go to bed and usually they'll sleep until 5-5:30. Occasionally I'll have to go in and put a pacifier in someone, but they're getting much better!

Here's some quick facts about them now:

Paige:
-14 lbs. 14.5 oz.
-independent and brooding
-loves to talk and even says mama!!
-looks at he world like she's figuring it all out
-is really really close to crawling!
-will wave bye-bye and try to say it at the same time

Presley:
-15 lbs even!
-fearless and very extroverted
-too curious for her own good!
-is unbelievable strong! We had to lower their cribs today because she had pulled up on the rail and was leaning over chewing on the wood!
-started to crawl!! I turned the video camera on on my iPad so she could watch herself on the screen.. They're both so fascinated with technology and she crawled right too it! Here's the video.

These are the preemie onesies the girls wore when in the hospital and for a month after they came home... amazing how much they've grown!

They are at such a fun age right now. We feel so blessed to have been chosen to be their mom and dad! I can't believe that in 3 more months we will be having their first birthday!
