I'm not sure where last month went.. I just know it flew by! By the time I had a chance to sit down and update the blog it was already almost time for their 11 month update so I figured I would just wait. The girls are keeping us very busy these days. They are crawling all over the house and in different directions. They're both pulling up on everything and Presley will even walk pushing her walker. She's not quite brave enough to let go yet. Here's their 10 month pics:
Photoshoots aren't that easy anymore... someone always wants to get their hands on the camera...
or attack each other....
And for the 11 month...I'm sad I only have one more onesie sticker before they turn one!!
I still can't believe they're about to be a year old! This time last year I was being admitted into the hospital and ended up staying there until they were born! I can't wait until their first birthday party. It's going to be so much fun!
Some quick stats on them:
-Still NO TEETH!!! I swear they've been "teething" for at least 4 months now... still nothing!
-Both LOVE baths! No matter where they are in the house, when they hear the bath water turn on they both crawl as fast at they can to the tub. It's so cute!
-They've started to feed themselves finger foods. Mostly soft cheese and fruits and veggies. I think I found their new favorite food..Watermelon! They gobble it all up every time.
-Finally they're starting to sleep better at night...even sleeping through the entire night consistently. I couldn't be more thrilled!
-Both still LOVE to drink from cups from Rosa's. They get so excited when they see one and will drop whatever they're doing and crawl and start crying until they get a drink from it (Thanks Mom!). I'm afraid when I get rid of their bottles I'm going to have to start putting their milk in Rosa's cups..
Paige:
-Weight: 16lbs. 9 oz.
-Loves to talk!!! She babbles constantly and will even say bath, bye bye and puppy now! She's definitely the animal lover between the two!
-She is very patient and usually will wait her turn without throwing a fit...unlike her sister..
Presley:
-Weight: 17 lbs!!! The little 2lb. runt is now the biggest!..by a half a pound!
-Still doesn't talk too much. She will say dada and bye-bye a few times..other than that its just squeals.
-I can already tell she is going to be VERY independent!
-She won't sit still more than a few seconds.. there's always something out there she needs to explore.
Getting ready for a bath... they're finally starting to get some meat on their bones!
Getting festive for Cinco de Mayo
Back in May, we went to the NICU reunion at Cook's. It was neat to go back and see some of the nurses that took care of them and even some of the other babies that were there with them. It's nice to see how much big all the babies and how well everyone was doing. We met up with Raif and his parents. He was the girls neighbor in the step-down NICU for a few weeks.
We got to meet my friend Kacey and her family at the Ft. Worth Zoo. We had a great time!...even though the picture doesn't look like they did...
I had a wonderful first Mother's Day with the girls! I got some nice pampering gifts and we all went out to lunch.
My sister and brother-in-law came into town for a quick visit and brought my nephew Brooks. We haven't gotten to see him since St. Patrick's Day! All the parents and great-grandparents enjoyed the visit too. Brooks is 6 months younger than them and outweighs them bother!
We had to go to Ft. Worth for Memorial Day weekend because the girls had an eye appointment at Cook's. The appointment went great! Neither of them had any retinopathy anymore due to being premature. Paige is a little far-sighted and Presley is a little near-sighted. He said there wasn't any need for correction at this time. We've also been released from every doctor at Cook's! What a blessing!!
We stayed at the Gaylord and the girls had so much fun. They had just opened their new waterpark that weekend so we figured we go check it out. My sister Callie met up with us and went too. It was so incredibly crowded!! We couldn't even find a place to sit much less in the shade. Thankfully a lady who rented a cabana saw us walking around carrying twins and offered us some of her chairs to sit in. She had twins of her own and said we could even come in her cabana to get out of the shade. It was so nice of her! The girls got in the kiddie pool and played forever. They loved the spouts and water falls in it. It was in the shade so it got a little chilly after a while. They also had a lazy river and Jon and I took the girls on the floats with us. It instantly put Presley to sleep!
We had saw a park on our way to Southlake and we stopped to let the girls play. They had been so cooped up being in carseats and strollers that they needed to roam free. It was so funny to watch them crawl on the grass. They hated letting their knees touch so they bear crawled every where!
Our friend Shawn took their birthday card pics the other night. We had to wait until about 7:30 so the lighting would be best. Their bedtime is around 6:30, so we were pushing it. We wound up getting a good one of them and Presley got a good individual shot. Paige cried and screamed during her individual shoot!
And for their invitation! I've had so much fun planning their first birthday party. I couldn't decide between a Sweet Shoppe theme or Pretty in Pink.. so I just combined them both.
