2 Months Old!

The girls just turned 2 months old!! I'm so amazed to see how far they've come! Four days after they turned 2 months old was their due date. Since they were born so early, they technically have 2 ages: their actual age and their corrected age. Their actual age goes by their birthday on July 3 and their corrected age goes by their due date of September 7. Their corrected age is what we'll use to make sure they're development and social skills are on track. Since they still weren't supposed to be born these last 2+months, they've been learning things they should've learned in the womb (so these last couple months don't count). It's expected for them to be a little delayed with their developmental milestones, but the doctor said they should be caught up by age 2.
They've really grown since we've been home! Paige now weighs 6lbs. and Presley is now 4lb. 11 oz. She's almost outgrown her premie clothes! They still eat every 3 hours around the clock. They let us know when it's time to eat! I did find one good thing about them being in the NICU.. they can sleep through anything! Vacuums, phones ringing, dogs barking... everything! Sometimes at night when they can't sleep, I turn on something that plays music and they usually go right back to sleep. Hopefully they won't be a light sleeper like me!

Paige is so smart... She's already showing how old she is!

I just love this picture of them! I didn't even pose them....i just laid them down and this is what they did.

When Paige was about 10 days old, a photographer came through the unit and was taking pictures to use as art work in the new NICU unit Cook's was about to open. She chose Paige and I happened to be there so I got to hold her during the pics. Thankfully we weren't still there Labor Day weekend when the unit opened! Since we never got to see the pictures in person, the photographer emailed them to me so we could see how they turned out. One day when the girls are older, maybe we'll get to take them to see it in person. The first one is the picture they used.

Jon took some pictures of the girls the other night after dinner. They turned out so good! Hopefully they will be this cooperative during a real photo shoot!
