After honeymooning in Jamaica, we came back to Lubbock only to pack up everything we owned and to get rid of everything else that wouldn't fit in our 300 sq. foot efficieny apartment in ghetto Ft. Worth. It was a rough two and a half years full of studying, studying and more studying.
Jon and I both graduated in December with our Master's in Nurse Anesthesia from Texas Wesleyan University. We took our National Certification Exam as soon as possible and our results arrived via FedEx later that week. We were so nervous (and excited too) as we opened our FedEx packages. All I was looking for were the words "Congratulations! You passed!" We quickly opened our envelopes and I saw the words "you passed" and was so relieved!! I looked over at Jon and he had a blank glare on his face. I immediately thought, "Oh my gosh, he failed!? There's no way!!" I look over at his papers and see "you passed" and ask him what the deal is because it said he passed. He says, "No....someone named Tonya from Alabama passed!" They sent him the wrong results!! It didn't even occur to me to check the name on my results at the moment because we were so stunned this happened. These results are very important to our future and they mixed them up?! Well a few minutes later I glance at my papers again, and I have someone named LeShonda from Alabama!! We both received other students results! It was horrible. We tried calling the certification people but they were closed due to bad weather so I took matters into my own hand. I found one of the girls on Facebook and was able to connect with her and let her know she passed. She was friends with the other girl too so we told the other girl she passed too. Neither of them had received their "supposed" results in the mail yet but later that evening Tonya called me to tell me she got my results and I passed. Jon found out the next day when LeShonda got his. It was a huge mix-up but we were glad we finally new we passed!
Now we can sleep a little better knowing we can pay for the house we've been building!!
Jon and I before graduation.
